Humane Society Autumn 2014 Poster Contest

Dublin High School is excited to announce three students were award winners in the Dublin/Laurens Humane Society Autumn 2014 Poster Contest.  Senior Maci Wood won first place, receiving a $1,000 scholarship.  Both Freshman Bridgette Wooden and La'Neyshia Walls from the Class of 2015 were selected as Honorable Mentions.  Their award-winning artwork  is currently on display at the Laurens County Library. 

Ltn. Governor Visits HGCCA

Ltn. Governor Casey Cagle recently visited the Heart of Georgia College and Career Academy. 

 

He encouraged local business leaders to get involved, calling the alternative educational pathway "an economic engine that can transform Middle Georgia."

 

"College and Career Academy students will leave high school with something that's marketable," said Cagle.  "And, if we have a workforce, we will have industry flock to us."

Fighting Irish Band Competition

We've got some AWESOME news from the Sounds of Silver Competition. Competing for the first time since 2006, our DHS Fighting Irish Band brought home 9 trophies! From their Festival Performance:  Drum Major-Excellence, Percussion-Superior, Auxiliary-Superior, and Overall Band-Excellent.  From the Competition: Drum Major-Superior, Percussion-Superior, Auxiliary-Superior, and Overall Band-Excellent! Also, the Percussion placed 3rd in the AA Division!

#PINKOut 2014

From the FBLA's Bake Sale to Cheerleaders, Band and Fans, the October 17th Game against East Laurens was all about raising recognition during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For Pink Out 2014, the Fighting Irish traded in their green and gold for blush, fuchsia and rose.

Fighting Irish Band

Dublin High School's Fighting Irish Band is competition bound. This weekend they travel to Pierce County High School for the Sounds of Silver Competition. So, we sat down with Mr. Loredo and band members to see how they're preparing.

Dublin High School's Softball Senior Night was all about celebrating the Class of 2015!
