DHS SET TO HOST REGION 3AA

The Dublin Irish and Lady Irish are poised to host the Region 3-AA Boys and Girls basketball tournaments slated to begin Wednesday Feb. 10.

DHS FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME BANQUET SET FOR APRIL 23

The 2006 Dublin High School AA State Championship team will be one of 14 honorees inducted into the 2016 class of the Dublin Touchdown Club Football Hall of Fame.

BARRY BROWN SIGNS TO PLAY WITH GEORGIA STATE

Dublin High School senior place kicker Barry Brown signed a letter of intent to play for Georgia State University during a National Signing Day ceremony held in the school's cafeteria. Brown, a two-year starter for the Irish, was the 74th player to sign a college scholarship during Irish head coach Roger Holmes' tenure.

DHS RELEASES 2016 SOCCER SCHEDULE

Dublin High School released its 2016 Varsity and Junior Girls soccer schedule.

Valmiera Glass to invest $1 Million in Career Academy training facility

The Heart of Georgia College and Career Academy served as the host site for the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding acknowledging Valmiera Glass’ expansion of its North American headquarters in Dublin. Along with the planned 425 additional jobs and $90-million site expansion, owner Jurgen Preiss-Daimler announced plans to invest $1 million in new training facilities to be located at the Career Academy. The event was attended by a host of officials, including Congressman Rick Allen. 

DHS FBLA ATTENDS REGION CONFERENCE

Dublin High School's FBLA attended the region conference in Swainsboro.

AFJROTC BATAAN DEATH MARCH

The DHS Air Force JROTC will host its first Bataan Death March in honor of the POWs who were forced to walk 65 miles under brutal conditions during World War II. Roughly 10,000 died during the original march. The march will take place April 16.

HILLCREST STUDENT RAISES $1K FOR JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Hillcrest Elementary fifth grader Britney Junior raised more than $1,000 for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart campaign for the second-straight year.

Saxon Heights Pre-K teacher Ms. Jonessa Williams is using an innovative approach to discover students' interest by allowing them to capture their days in pictures.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR 2015-16 TEACHER OF THE YEAR GROUP PHOTO

School-level Teachers of the Year were honored during a special luncheon held at Dublin Country Club Jan. 7, 2016, with Hillcrest Elementary Media Specialist Wayne Clark selected as the system-wide Teacher of the Year.
